Happy Gardeners!

We  had fun doing gardening with Aoife.

She gave each of us a flower pot.
We had to write our name on the pot.

Then we filled the pots with compost.

We put a daffodil bulb into the compost.

We pressed the bulb down into the compost.

We are very happy gardeners! Thank you Aoife :-)

Mad About Maths!

Gymnastics

We have gymnastics every Wednesday.
We learn to do lots of different moves.

Autumn

This is the season of Autumn. The weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter.

We went on an Autumn walk.
We collected helicopters from the sycamore
tree and we made them fly.

  

 We made hedgehogs from clay and we painted them.

We learned a poem about a squirrel and we wrote it out.

About Us!

We are Senior Infants in St. Anne's School, Shankill, Co. Dublin, Ireland. The Irish name for our school is Scoil Naomh Anna. 

There are nearly 500 children  in our school. We are between the Irish Sea and the mountains.

We have a nice garden in our school. We have a big yard to play in.

Quadblogging

We are very excited because we have been invited to take part in some Quadblogging!

There will be four classes taking part in this great adventure.

Each week, one class will share some interesting things on their blog and the other three classes will comment on the posts. This will involve lots of discussions, planning, writing, reading, taking photographs and uploading them to our Blog, so we will be very busy for the next few weeks!

Our class will be first to share our news and stories. We have five groups in our class and each group will be in charge of the blog for one day next week. So stay tuned and share this exciting adventure with us!

Off to a Great Start in Senior Infants!

September has been a very busy month in Senior Infants. We are now in a much bigger class, there are 31 of us, which means that we have lots of new friends to play with!

We have read lots of good books, shared our news, learned lots of poems and songs and worked really hard on our writing since we came back to school.

We have had great fun making things in art and making patterns in maths.

We love PE. We do gymnastics every Wednesday and Ball Skills every Friday.

We go to the Computer Room every Wednesday. We have been working with MS Paint and have created lots of wonderful pictures. Each of us has a folder and we are learning how to save our work every week. We hope we have lots of good things saved by the end of the year!

Every Friday we have time free play. We love this time, we get to play with lots of really cool things!
